Expanding an Online Volume Pool
This article is a sample scenario that will guide you through the basic steps of expanding your pool with an additional volume.

The information in this scenario applies to:
- poolIt Pro/Server 1.0
- Microsoft Windows® XP/Server® 2003/Vista/Server® 2008/Windows 7 RC1 (32-bit and 64-bit)
Before You Begin
- Make sure you have installed and activated poolIt on your computer.
- Make sure you have set up a valid volume pool.
- Make sure you haven’t reached the limit for number of members in a pool (10 for Pro and 20 for Server)
Note: If you have reached the maximum allowed number of volumes per pool for your poolIt edition, you can remove one of the member volumes before proceeding with the setup.
Expanding Online Storage
- In the poolIt window, select the volume pool and click Edit.
The Edit Pool dialog appears.
- In the General tab, click Add.
The Add Volumes dialog appears. It lists all supported file systems that are mounted on your computer with Read & Write permissions, except the boot volume.
- Select the check-box of the volume that you want to add to the pool, and then click OK.
Important: Volumes that already participate in a volume pool are listed in red with the name of the pool that they are part of. It is recommended that you remove such volumes from their current volume pool before adding them to another pool.
If you have selected to add a network share or a mapped drive and poolIt doesn’t have login information for the server from which they are exported, the Manage Passwords dialog appears. It is advisable to specify an account whose credentials are to be used for access to these shares.
- In the Edit Pool dialog, click OK.
