With poolIt you are always free to choose the vendor that offers the very best storage value because poolIt works with off-the-shelf components. You can pool any local drive, removable drive, RAID, NAS or network share - as long as it is a writable media accessible through HFS+/AFP (on Mac OS X) or NTFS/FAT/SMB (on Windows), it can most likely be pooled.
100% Data Friendly Each volume you add to the pool can contain data, as does each volume that you decide to remove from the pool. Data will always be there for you to use - with or without poolIt, as poolIt doesn't use a proprietary file system, but turns standard HFS+ or NTFS volumes into flexible pool members. You can use standard backup, archive, check disk, repair and defrag tools to maintain the individual members of your pool.
Freedom of Choice poolIt distributes files among the file systems that comprise the pool in such a way that each file/folder is on the same volume member as their parent folder. Using Pool Explorer - an integrated workspace, you can view detailed information about each file/folder, and move them between pool members, delete them, etc.
